About

Built by a seller who wanted to know why.

StoreVitals is made by one person, for the shop they actually run.

Hi, I'm Sourav. I'm an Etsy seller: I run PhotoToArtPrints, a shop that turns customers' photos into custom portraits and prints, from Australia. StoreVitals is the tool I built for that shop.

Like most sellers I'd open Shop Stats, see that orders were down for the month, and have no idea why. Was it the price change I made three weeks ago? The new photos? Search? A slow month for everyone? Etsy shows you what moved. It never tells you why, and it has no idea what you changed.

I also work in data engineering, building the systems that turn a company's raw records into numbers it can trust, which is where the standards behind this come from. So I built the thing I wanted for my own shop: something that reads the actual payment ledger and the actual traffic, works out the cause, suggests a fix, and then, the part I'd never seen anywhere, goes back and measures whether the fix worked, against the rest of the shop, so a slow week isn't blamed on one edit.

That's StoreVitals. It has run on my shop through every version, and the sample shop on this site is a synthetic twin of it, built so the product can be shown without showing my customers.

How it's built, and what it promises

  • Read-only, always. StoreVitals never writes to your shop or publishes anything on your behalf. The one thing it drafts, a title or a description, is shown to you to copy across yourself.
  • Your numbers, not market data. Money comes from your Etsy ledger; traffic from your Google Analytics. Nothing is extrapolated from "sellers like you", and there are no market or benchmark figures unless you opt in to anonymised benchmarking, which is off by default. Where a figure is modelled rather than measured, it says so.
  • No review text is stored. A rating and a date. A buyer's words never leave Etsy.
  • Uncertainty is shown. Modelled figures are labelled modelled; a verdict on too little data says "too early to tell" rather than nothing.

Where it is right now

Early access. I'm onboarding a small group of sellers by hand, learning from each shop before the next. Commercial access to Etsy's API is in progress, which is why there's a waitlist and not a sign-up button. If you'd like to be one of the early shops, or you just want to tell me what you'd need it to do, I'd like to hear from you.

hello@storevitals.app reaches me directly. There is no support team; there's one seller who built this and reads the inbox.
